At practice Sunday the Edmonton Oilers tried a different look for all four forward lines.
The Edmonton Oilers find themselves on the wrong end of a two-game losing streak. Last night they lost to the Florida Panthers 5-1 in a very poor effort from the team.
Connor McDavid. The Oilers held a practice at noon on Sunday. When they did, the forward line combinations were shuffled up.
Evander Kane gets a bump up to Connor McDavid's wing - with Zach Hyman remaining on the other flank. This line has the potential to do some damage at even strength. It also has the opportunity to get Kane out of his present scoring funk.
Leon Draisaitl will retain Warren Foegele on one wing while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins slides down to Draisaitl's other wing. Draisaitl needs to have a guy like Nugent-Hopkins on one of his wings to dish passes in the offensive zone so that he can be more of a double threat.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.Mattias Janmark, Ryan McLeod along with Connor Brown will more than likely be an "energy" line. I'm sure the identity of this line will be similar to the fourth line - generate chances against the opposition, finish checks, and not let the other team gain momentum.
Adam Erne looks to draw in as Derek Ryan is injured. The defense pairings will remain the same.
