EDMONTON – Winning teams have grit and talent.

That’s a significant motivating factor behind the Oilers' snagging Ike (Issac) Howard from the Tampa Bay Lightning. That thinking needs to be continued in the form of trading for Fabian Lysell.

Even if it is, the Oilers should be more than interested.

Lysell plays with speed and skill, and his game is similar to Howard’s in that aspect. Lysell recorded only three points in 12 NHL games last year.

He bounced around the lineup on different line combinations. Lysell primarily spent time playing with Pavel Zacha and Marat Khusnutdinov. Lysell spent the last game of the season on a line with the two forwards.

Even if he doesn’t play in the NHL, the Oilers should roll the dice on Lysell.
