The Edmonton Oilers rolled out some interesting line combinations at practice this morning.

The Edmonton Oilers are looking to earn their first win on their current road trip tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes. Puck drop tonight is at 5PM Mountain Time.

    Stuart Skinner.

The Oilers took to the ice before the game. Surprisingly, the defense pairings were shuffled.

Darnell Nurse was paired with Brett Kulak and Mattias Ekholm was still with Evan Bouchard. The third pairing had Philip Broberg on the left side with Vincent Desharnais and Cody Ceci rotating on the right side.

    Brett Kulak.

Nurse and Kulak will be a very interesting pairing to watch. Both play with speed and can carry the puck, although Kulak defers to passing more than Nurse.

The third pairing set up tells me that there is a good chance they play 11-7 in tonight's game. But if they go 12-6 I think they would have Desharnais be the healthy scratch over Ceci.
