The Edmonton Oilers have been victims of inconsistent goaltending this season. The combination of Stuart Skinner, Jack Campbell and Calvin Pickard have delivered mixed results.

Campbell has been the epitome of terrible - in the NHL and AHL. In five games with the Oilers he registered one win. He also had a 4.50 goals against average (GAA) with a .871 save percentage (SV%).
For the Bakersfield Condors he has a 4-6-0 record in 10 games. He has had some marginally better statistics with a 3.46 GAA and a .888 SV%.

The other prominent AHL goaltender who has been incredible this year is 2018 draft pick, Olivier Rodrigue.
Rodrigue is 4-2-2 on the season. In nine games he has a 2.22 GAA to go along with a .935 SV%. He's ranked fourth in GAA for all AHL goalies, and first in SV%.

This past weekend Rodrigue ended up starting both games for the Condors. He was scheduled to start the first game of a back-to-back against the Tuscon Roadrunners. It wasn't his best showing of the season having four goals find their way past him on 31 shots.
The plan was for Campbell to start last night's game against the Coachella Valley Firebirds. When it was revealed that he was sick, Rodrigue was called upon to play the second half of the back-to-back.
He didn't disappoint, stopping 37 of 38 total shots. He stood on his head in the first period, stopping 16 shots.
In his last 20 games he has a combined .933 SV%. I think he's more than earned a call up in the NHL. What's the worst that could happen?
