The Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland is not going to let his team go down without help.

The Edmonton Oilers will be harder on themselves than the media and fans are on them.

The Edmonton Oilers have three road games ahead of them this week - starting with their third meeting with the Vancouver Canucks. Sporting a 2-7-1 record is not how they thought they would enter their 11th game of the 2023-24 season.

Regardless of what position they thought they would be in, they need to make the most of where they are. The players in the locker room know what they need to do, now they just need to step out onto the ice and execute it.

Easier said than done, as we've seen. But the goaltending specifically has left a lot to be desired. The Oilers are at the bottom of the league in high danger save percentage.

Ironically they aren't giving up a lot of high danger chances, but the ones they are giving up are costing the team greatly. This isn't just a goalie problem, but finding a new goalie is a short term solution that will produce results while the defensemen tighten up their game.

A source has told The Hockey News that Ken Holland has been checking in on teams in search of a goalie. He's been working the phones for over a week now. That's all the information I have.

It's in the Oilers best interest for Holland to perform his due diligence by checking in with other teams to see what's available.
