The Edmonton Oilers made a roster move Saturday night.

Edmonton Oilers will see Mattias Ekholm return to the lineup. Expected to be paired with Evan Bouchard.

The Edmonton Oilers lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-4 in their Saturday afternoon game today. Despite losing, Derek Ryan scored two goals and James Hamblin scored his first career NHL goal.

In the wake of this loss, the Oilers have made a roster move:

Raphael Lavoie has been loaned to the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL. While it's unfortunate for him to go back down, it's what's best for him.

Lavoie was a healthy scratch against the Lightning. When he has played he's never been on the ice for more than ten minutes. The best deployment for him would involve top six forward minutes to go along with power play time.

When he returns to the AHL he'll be able to play a lot of minutes including power play and penalty kill.
