The Edmonton Oilers are preparing for a better game two on Saturday, as they face the same opponents that trounced them the other night - the Vancouver Canucks.
Mattias Ekholm is healthy enough to play and will be reunited with Evan Bouchard on the blue line. That's great for the defense, but it would be great for the team to have the flexibility to play a 12th forward.
The Oilers announced the signing of Adam Erne to a two-way one-year worth $775,000. This is a big boost to the bottom-six forward group. Erne collected 18 points in 61 games played last season.
Adam Erne.Erne can be fiesty and replaces Klim Kostin in that aspect. He's been a solid depth producer, and will look to continue that trend this 2023-24 season. We will see if he draws into the lineup for Saturday.
The Oilers will play the Canucks on Saturday night in Edmonton. The game will start at 8pm mountain time. Look for the starting goalie to potentially be announced sometime tomorrow.
