EDMONTON -- Personal and professional milestones are a big deal.

This past postseason saw the Edmonton Oilers reach the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in 18 years. Connor McDavid recorded 100 assists during the regular season. McDavid also tied the knot with Lauren Kyle, while Leon Draisaitl proposed to his girlfriend Celeste Desjardins.

Another major contributor to the Oilers is celebrating a personal milestone. Darnell Nurse took to social media to share that today is his second wedding anniversary with significant other Mikayla Nurse.

Both of them shared in separate Instagram stories the momentous occasion.

The couple have shared various photos of their summer spent primarily on vacation. Considering how late their season went, it's not surprising to see the players still take vacations this close to September.

Nurse will look to maintain his consistent point production. He has collected at least 30 points for six consecutive seasons. In 2022-23 he enjoyed a career best 43-point year.

His leadership in the community, as well as in the locker room, is invaluable. He competes hard on the ice and demands a lot of himself.

This season will be huge for the Oilers. They will look to build on the experience of making it to the Final, with the hopes of bringing home the sport's biggest prize.
