According to an insider, the Edmonton Oilers will announce a move soon.

EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers are on top of the hockey world right now. After dispatching the Calgary Flames 3-1 on Saturday night, they sit in third place in the Pacific Division.

The Oilers have a solid bottom six group right now. Sam Gagner, Connor Brown, Ryan McLeod, Derek Ryan and Mattias Janmark have all pitched in on the success of the team in one way or another.

    Ryan McLeod.

That bottom six is expecting to get a boost.

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period tweeted a potential impending move for the Oilers.

According to Pagnotta, there is a deal in place that will unit the Oilers and Corey Perry. There has yet to be official confirmation from other insiders or the team. With their current cap situation, they will need to send someone down to the AHL to make a league minimum deal fit under their cap ceiling.

    Corey Perry.

The Oilers were rumored to be high up on Perry's list of potential suitors, along with the Toronto Maple Leafs. A player of Perry's skill set would be a welcomed addition to the team.

Corey was made available due to his contract being terminated by the Chicago Blackhawks after an "alcohol fueled" incident.

A source has confirmed to The Hockey News that the Oilers have signed Perry. However we wait for an official announcement.
