The THN poll results are in! Connor McDavid is the heavy favorite to win both the Art Ross and the Maurice Richard trophy.

The Edmonton Oilers have two of the best players in the NHL with Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid. They are the primary drivers of the Oilers offence, there is no question of that.

Draisaitl won the Art Ross, Ted Lindsay and Hart Memorial trophies in the 2020 season. In 71 games that season he posted 110 points. He matched that point total in 2021-22 and hit a career high of 128 points in this past season. Both years he eclipsed 50 goals.

One Penguins star could see McDavid break the 170 point threshold this coming season - Sidney Crosby.

"I didn't think 150 was going to be in the cards for him but he found a way to get there...he just finds a way to find another level time and time again, so I would never bet against him."

The last time a player broke the 170 point threshold was in the 1988-89 season. Lemieux collected 199 points that season.

Crosby went on to say that his opinion on McDavid being the best player in the NHL hasn't changed since 2018.

"You've got Nate (MacKinnon) and Leon (Draisaitl) and some other guys who are right there, but I think he's proven that."

Despite the high praise from his fellow NHLer, McDavid remains focused on achieving his ultimate goal - to win the Stanley Cup. After the heartbreaking loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in the second round of last year's playoffs, he told reporters that this upcoming season is "cup or bust."

Crosby isn't surprised by anything the Oilers captain does anymore. He has been and always will be a special player and a generational talent.
