The Edmonton Oilers improved to 7-12-1 after their 8-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks. They are six point out of the last Wild Card position and only three points back of the Ducks with a game in-hand.

Last night saw multi-point contributions from several people in the lineup. Connor McDavid recorded a goal and four assists, Darnell Nurse pocketed three assists, while Vincent Desharnais also had a multi-assist game.
Zach Hyman scored twice - his 11th and 12th goals - making him the Oiler with the most goals scored this season. With 12 goals and 10 assists in 20 games, he's on pace for a career season.
Additionally, his 12 goals have him on pace to finish the year with 50 goals.

That would be the best of his career. Each of the past two years have been career highs in points and goals for Hyman. Two seasons ago he had 27 goals with 54 points. Last year he collected 36 goals to go along with 83 points (in 79 games).
Hyman has been consistently producing offense for the beginning of the 2023-24 season. Because of this, I have no doubt that he will score 50 goals by the end of the year.
