The Edmonton Oilers have a shot at redemption tonight. The Oilers get a rematch against the Vancouver Canucks. After an embarrassing 8-1 loss on Wednesday, they are looking to move on and prove that last game was just one game - and not a pattern that will be repeated.
Jack Campbell started on Wednesday, allowing four goals in the loss. Stuart Skinner also allowed four goals in his relief performance.
It looks like Skinner will be the Oilers starter tonight. The Calder Trophy finalist is looking to start the year strong after his fantastic rookie season in 2022-23.
Skinner won the starting job from Campbell last year, after the veteran struggled early. I'd look for more of an even split between the two netminders this season. The team will need both goalies at the top of their game for the Oilers to keep their hopes of winning the Stanley Cup alive.
