The young Edmonton Oilers forward has been scoring a lot recently.

The Edmonton Oilers are closing out 2023 in style. After defeating their playoff nemesis - the Los Angeles Kings - they handily beat the Anaheim Ducks 7-2.

Edmonton Oilers close out 2023 on a high note.

It was a multi-point game for several players, Warren Foegele, Leon Draisaitl, Darnell Nurse and Ryan McLeod. Foegele had one of the best outings of his career with a two-goal five-point performance.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about the scoring from this game, is how consistent McLeod has been recently. In the last five games he has scored five goals.

    Ryan McLeod.

The new look second line of Draisaitl, Foegele and McLeod have been a pleasant surprise. Six of McLeod's 15 points this year have come with Draisaitl and Foegele as his linemates.

Conversely, last year he was never that productive with any of the line combinations he was paired with. When paired with Dylan Holloway and Foegele he mustered three points. He did that while only playing 32:35 with them - he's played 46:05 skating with Draisaitl and Foegele this season.

Warren Foegele, Evan Bouchard and Ryan McLeod.

McLeod has the speed to be an incredibly dangerous offensive player. Up until this recent stretch he's been riding a low shooting percentage. Now that things are normalizing we should expect to see more consistent production from the second round draft pick.
