The Edmonton Oilers line combinations at practice the day before they play the Same Jose Sharks.
The Edmonton Oilers are hunting for their third win of the season. After 11 games their less than ideal start has them sitting at 2-8-1.
Jack Campbell was put on waivers yesterday for purpose of assignment. As of this writing, he has cleared waivers and will report to the Bakersfield Condors.
Neither goalie has been up to the standards that they were hoping for with this season. Campbell became the sacrificial lamb because something needed to change - to act as a catalyst for the rest of the group.
Jay Woodcroft is running some new forward lines at practice today.
Ryan McLeod is on the top line with Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman. Dylan Holloway was skating with Leon Draisaitl and Warren Foegele on the second line.
Dylan Holloway. This top six shake-up was beyond needed. It also frees them up to skate a third line that boasts of Evander Kane, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Sam Gagner.
This is a golden opportunity for Holloway and McLeod to get themselves going offensively. McLeod and McDavid are the two fastest skaters on the team and should gel well together in that regard. Holloway with Draisaitl also feels like a great pairing.
Ryan McLeod. We'll have to wait until 8pm Mountain Time tomorrow to see if these lines stick.
