The Ottawa Senators have appointed their new President of Hockey Operations.
The Edmonton Oilers have lost a member of their front office to another organization. Steve Staios is no longer a special advisor to the hockey operations staff.
Staios has been appointed as President of Hockey Operations for the Ottawa Senators. This was a rumored possibility because of Staios' relationship with the new Senators owner, Michael Andlauer.

This is a bit of a surprise as Ken Holland spoke recently about Staios' standing with the Oilers. He mentioned that Staios was still with the team, but wouldn't provide further detail.
There were musings that Staios would be the next Oilers General Manager once Holland has moved on from the organization. This makes the discussion around the Oilers next general manager interesting.
