The former Oiler is reportedly returning to the organization.
The Edmonton Oilers are getting started on their Free Agency signings early. One deal is being reported by Frank Seravalli on Twitter:
Drake Caggiula is reportedly signing a contract with the Oilers. He has signed a two-year $750,000 cap hit contract.
Caggiula only played in four NHL games last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He spent most of the season in the AHL. Caggiula played 65 games and recorded 53 points.
Caggiula will have an opportunity in the Oilers bottom-six. Caggiula is a speedy depth winger who can kill penalties and provide secondary scoring. Worst case scenario, he can play in the top-six in the minors and be called up when injury strikes.
