The Edmonton Oilers' most notable offseason addition was winger Connor Brown. He is expected to reunite with former Erie Otters teammate Connor McDavid on the team, as they had great chemistry. Due to this, Brown could be in a solid season. In this piece, let's focus on how many goals he could score in 2023-24.
Brown, 29, is not necessarily known for his goal-scoring but rather for his strong two-way play and aggressiveness. Over the course of his 448-game career, he has scored 90 goals, while posting 216 points. He also has hit the 20-goal mark just twice in his career. He most recently in 2020-21 with the Ottawa Senators, where he had 21 goals in just 56 games played.
Earlier this month, fellow THN writer Caleb Kerney predicted that Brown would score 15 goals this season. He sees Brown recording far more assists (32), and it is understandable when looking at his career stats.

In a tweet back in August, Bob Stauffer wrote predictions for each Oilers forward. When it came to Brown, he sees the scrappy winger scoring 18 goals and posting 43 points in 2023-24.
For my goals prediction for Brown, I am going to go a little higher. With Brown expected to have a top-six role with the Oilers, I see the winger scoring 21 goals in 2023-24 if he stays healthy. He is going to have plenty of high-impact offensive weapons to work with and should see time power-play time.
