The Edmonton Oilers were shutout for the first time this season during last night's 3-0 loss at the hands of the New York Rangers.

There is a bright spot from last night - Stuart Skinner seems to be settling into form. Stopping 29 of 32 shots, he fought to give his team a shot at winning.
Last night Skinner stopped all 10 shots he faced in the first period, keeping his team in the game. His 29 saves on 32 shots is good for a .906 save percentage (SV%), the first time he's had a SV% better than .900 this season. His other three games he mustered up a .889 SV% performance and two .750 SV% games.
He looked calm all night. He didn't give up a rebound until late in the first period. He had some huge saves in the second and third.
As for the three goals scored on him, the first two he had absolutely no chance on. The third one he got a piece of as he was sliding across his crease.
The end result wasn't what the Oilers wanted. However, if Skinner is getting into form it behoves the rest of the team to follow suit.
