The Edmonton Oilers head into the Christmas break with back-to-back wins.
The Edmonton Oilers enter the Christmas break on a high note. They played their first back-to-back games of the season on December 21 & 22. The first they won against the New Jersey Devils, 6-3.

Last night they defeated the New York Rangers with another four goal third period. The final score was 4-3. The Rangers struck first - with Blake Wheeler opening the scoring at 11:03 of the first period.
A huge contributor to the Oilers win was the play of goaltender Stuart Skinner. Over the first two periods he stopped 21 of 22 shots, keeping the Oilers in the game.

It was the kind of game that Skinner needed to have after his performance against the New York Islanders three nights earlier. He was up to the task against the Rangers, and pulled off this fantastic stop.
This was a tremendous moment in the game to make this save against Mika Zibanejad. He stopped a sure-fire goal and kept the score at 1-0 early in the second period.
Having your goaltender make a save like this gives your team a huge boost. From this point of the game on the Oilers and Rangers both had 21 shots - after the Oilers only mustered seven shots to the Rangers 13.
The Oilers play next on December 28th against the San Jose Sharks.
