The Edmonton Oilers have to get out of a jam in net. Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard are the goalies with the NHL leg of the organization. Skinner is the starter while Pickard has only seen starts when Skinner's game has been a bit shaky.

If it's going to be a while before a trade is made, the Oilers have to consider a call up. But Jack Campbell has been way too inconsistent to warrant a trip to Edmonton.
There is another goalie in Bakersfield who deserves a shot at NHL games before Campbell. He is the 62nd overall pick from the 2018 draft for the Oilers, it's Olivier Rodrigue.
Last year Rodrigue had some very good numbers in his 29 games played. He sported a 2.77 goals against average (GAA) paired with a .912 save percentage (SV%). Not quite call up worthy - but really good for a 22-year old in the AHL.

Now 23, Rodrigue has only started four games this season. With a 2.20 GAA and a .936 SV% he was putting together a convincing case to be the Condors starting goalie.
Rodrigue has only started two games since Campbell came to the Condors. Campbell, on the other hand, has started seven games.

In those seven games he has a 3.28 GAA and a .893 SV%. His play has either been really stellar or really bad - with nothing inbetween.
Rodrigue deserves a chance at NHL games before Campbell gets a call up. Rodrigue may be inexperienced, but he's been more consistent than Campbell.
Campbell seeing Rodrigue get called up before him could give him the kick in the pants he needs to play more consistently.
