With the loss Thursday against the Wild, the Canucks locked up the best odds to land the first overall pick in the upcoming draft.

The Canucks have never picked first overall before in franchise history, and if they do, they'll have a tough decision on their hands between Swedish center Ivar Stenberg and Canadian winger Gavin McKenna.

Recent pre-draft buzz reportedly has the Canucks leaning toward Stenberg, and the Canucks have a strong history of drafting and developing Swedes. Stenberg plays a strong two-way game and natural centers, especially those who can play center in the NHL, are often more valued. However, McKenna is believed to possess more upside as a dynamic offensive player.

Though there's been some criticism levied against McKenna for his immaturity stemming from his off-ice altercation, and his perimeter play, remember he's still a teenager and plenty of elite superstar scoring wingers made a living playing on the perimeter.

If the Canucks win the lottery, who should they pick?
