
After suffering an embarrassing 9-0 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday, the Devils lost yet again on Thursday to the Penguins, 4-1. It was their third straight loss and seventh in nine games, and their offense has completely disappeared.
It was troublesome enough they had little answer against the Isles, but it was deeply unsettling that they couldn't come out with a winning effort against the Penguins, and at times looked just as listless as they did on Tuesday.
It had been widely speculated Quinn Hughes would join brothers Jack and Luke in the marsh when the Canucks were looking to trade their captain, but given the Devils' situation right now, is there a situation where Quinn re-signs with the Wild and Jack and Luke join him there later?
The Devils are locked in with so many hard-to-move contracts protected by various no-trade clauses that limits their options.
In a season where the playoffs seem further and further out of reach, what will the Devils to shake things up, either at the trade deadline or in the off-season?
