NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Defensemen Pickups March 24 - DeAngelo Bolstering Islanders' Blueline

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Tony DeAngelo, NYI vs. CLM (13% rostered)
ADA has bolstered the back end on the Island since arriving at the end of January. He notched a pair of assists Thursday, following that performance up with a helper Saturday. DeAngelo has earned seven points over his last eight contests, including a pair of power-play assists. He continues to stay involved with the man advantage despite the return of Noah Dobson, at times pairing with him on the point of the power play. ADA is seeing 23+ minutes of ice time, which is the most of his career.

Simon Edvinsson, DET @ UTAH (7% rostered)
Edvinsson's offense has slipped this month, as he may be wearing down slightly in his first complete NHL season. He has three helpers, 19 blocks, 16 PIM and 12 shots on net over 10 outings in March. Despite the decline in output, Edvisson is still seeing solid ice time, skating 20:31 a contest, only a 24 second decline from his first 55 games played. Edvinsson is still having a solid rookie campaign, at 26 points, 66 shots on net, 121 blocks, 66 hits, 52 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 65 contests.
