Detroit is 4-5-1 in their last 10 contests and on the fringes of playoff contention. The Red Wings are six points shy of the Canadiens for the second Wild Card spot with a game in hand and eight contests remaining. Talbot, after a slump, has found his form again, going 1-1-1 in his last three starts, allowing only four goals on 80 shots (.950 save percentage). For the Winged Wheel to have any shot, Talbot will need to be a stone wall between the pipes while the offense wakes up.
