Plus another Hutson racking up points on the blueline

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Cole Hutson, WSH @ PIT (20% rostered) – FanDuel $4,900
Hutson has relatively ably replaced John Carlson on the Capitals' blueline. He still will have growing pains, include mistakes in his own end, but the offensive instincts have been on display. Carlson has three goals - two of them into empty nets - and five assists in 11 games since joining Washington off the Boston University campus. Five of his eight points have come on the power play, adding to his value.

Evan Bouchard, EDM @ LA (99% rostered) – FanDuel $7,100
Bouchard is the second priciest blueliner behind Zach Werenski, though the argument could be made that the prices should be flipped. After a "down" season of 67 points in 2024-25, Bouchard is up to 91 points in 79 appearances, while showing improvement in his own end, an area of weakness previously. Bouchard should be a finalist for the Vezina Trophy.

Moritz Seider, DET vs. NJ (99% rostered) – FanDuel $6,200
I am usually not a fan of utilizing highly priced and rostered blueliners. But down the stretch finding a productive forward may be easier then a defensemen, which is why Bouchard and Seider get the nod. In the past month, Seider has taken his game to another level. He's posted three goals and 19 points with 48 shots on net, 34 blocked shots, 23 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-5 rating, with nine of those points (two goals, seven assists) coming on the power play. Seider now has 10 goals, 50 assists and a plus-21 rating, all of which are career-highs.
