A new #1 blueliner in the Arch City?

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Matthew Schaefer, NYI vs. PIT (95% rostered) - FanDuel $6,400
Paraphrasing the old beer commercial, "Schaefer is the one D-man to have if you are having more than one (in your league)." Schaefer has taken his game to another level this month, notching four goals and 15 points in 14 March contests. Hiis 56 points (22 goals, 34 assists) through 74 games on the season has tied the franchise scoring mark for a rookie defenseman, set by Stefan Persson in 1977-78. Schaefer looks to be a lock for the Calder Award.

John Carlson, ANA vs. TOR (90% rostered) - FanDuel $6,500
Carlson has seamlessly stepped into the Ducks' lineup, providing veteran leadership and production from the blueline. He comes into Monday's contest on a three-game point streak during which he has notched seven assists. Three of those helpers have come on the man-advantage, helping Anaheim maintain a slim lead atop the Pacific Division. Change can be good as Carlson is showing,

Philip Broberg, STL @ SJ (9% rostered) - FanDuel $4,500
Broberg extended his point streak to four with a goal Saturday. The trade of Justin Faulk created a gap on the St. Louis blueline and power play that lately has been ably filled by Broberh. The 24-year-old defenseman's hot streak has raised his season numbers to five goals, 27 points, 86 shots on net, 89 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 71 appearances. He sits just two points shy of his 2024-25 production, which was a career-high.
