On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.
Matthew Schaefer, NYI vs. WPG (56% rostered) – Draft Kings $4,300
Schaefer, the 2025 draft first overall pick, has seen his rostered percentage rise steadily. That increase mirrors his rise in ice time and responsibility already. Schaefer skated 17:15 Opening Night increasing to 26:04 the second game of the season, including a massive uptick on the power play, where he replaced Tony DeAngelo on the first unit. Get on board now before it's too late.
Luke Hughes, NJ @ CLM (94% rostered) – Draft Kings $4,400
Hughes is at a very nice price for a 10-game slate Monday. After posting 47 and 44 points his first two full seasons in the league, Hughes tallied a pair of assists in each of his first two contests this season. Hughes is skating on the first pair while seeing top unit power play usage, giving him a strong chance to have a third productive contest.
Justin Faulk, STL @ VAN (19% rostered) – Draft Kings $4,800
Faulk continues to play heavy minutes on the blueline for the Blues. He skated 22:43 in the first game and 25:02 on Saturday, seeing over two minutes in each contest on the man-advantage. Cam Fowler is the primary point producer on the backline but Faulk is still a solid bet to et at least 30 points, giving him some value. Add in 100+ hits on the season and his value ticks up a bit.
Zeev Buium, MIN vs. LA (72% rostered) – Draft Kings $N/A
Buium tallied his first career goal and assist Saturday, though that was somewhat offset by a minus-four rating. He skated 24:39 in that contest after seeing 20:10 in ice time in his debut. Buium is the point man on the Wild power play, which should be productive thanks to the presence of Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi.
