On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.
Ryan McDonagh, TB vs. ANA (5% rostered) - FanDuel $4,800
McDonagh was brilliant defensively last season, posting a plus-43 rating in his first season back with the Lightning. Mack Truck is in the final season of the $47.25 million contract extension he signed with the Lightning in July of 2018. The 36-year-old blueliner has shown few signs of slowing this season, notching three goals and a pair of assists with 10 hits in the first seven games.

Shea Theodore, LV @ FLA(95% rostered) - FanDuel $6,000
Theodore's role on the power play was part of the Sleepers and Keepers podcast last week. Vegas started the season with five forwards on their first unit following the signing of Mitch Marner this offseason. Mark Stone's injury created a spot that is being filled by Theodore, which restores some of his value, as he had just one assist the first six games of the season while on the second unit.
Mikhail Sergachev, UTAH @ MIN (94% rostered) - FanDuel $5,900
Sergachev was milk-carton invisible the first six games of the season, failing to notch a point. The last two contests his game has been in bright flashing lights, as he posted a goal and four assists. The Mammoth top-six are extremely dangerous offensively, benefitting Sergachev, who is Utah's top blueliner. A 50+ point season is certainly attainable again for the 27-year-old defenseman.
Kris Letang, PIT vs. CLM (25% rostered) - FanDuel $4,900
Letang opened the season with five scoreless games before posting three assists his next two contests. His value is somewhat dependent on how Erik Karlsson is deployed, as EK65 is still teh top power-play quarterback. Letang hit the 600 career assist mark this season to go along with his 175 goals, marks that should be sufficient enough with his accolades to be inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Jacob Chychrun, WAS vs. OTT (99% rostered) - $6,000
Chychrun had his best offensive season in 2024-25, his first in Washington, tallying 20 goals and 27 assists. Fantasy teams, as well as his real life ones, have been waiting for Chychrun to live up to his potential, a step he took last season. Chychrun is off to a strong start to the 2025-26 campaign, scoring in back-to-back games and in three of his last four contests to go along with three helpers in seven outings.
