On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.
Ivan Barbashev, LW, LV @ NJ (33% rostered) - FanDuel $3,800
Barbashev has been a fairly consistent scorer, though Tuesday was the first time he had a multi-point effort since November 6. The winger is up to nine goals, 22 points, 42 shots on net, 43 hits and a plus-7 rating through 26 appearances this season. Barbashev posted his second-best career total last season with 23 tallies and 28 helpers in 70 contests. He is on early-pace to set new highs across the board.
JJ Peterka, LW/RW, LV @ NJ (61% rostered) - FanDuel $4,200
Peterka had a rough November, notching five goals but just one assist in 12 games. In two December contests, Peterka has lit the lamp three times already in two appearances, giving the talented winger 12 markers to go along with nine helpers in 28 contests. Peterka increased his production each season in Buffalo, going from 32 to 50 and then 68 points last season. Traded to Utah and signed to a five-year deal in June, JJP should set a new career-high in goals.
Ryan Leonard, RW, LV @ NJ (20% rostered) - FanDuel $4,000
Leonard is on a heater. He extended his point streak to four with his best game in this his rookie campaign, notching a pair of goals and two assists Wednesday. Leonard, selected eighth overall in 2023, is up to seven goals, 18 points, 60 shots on net, 43 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-7 rating across 28 appearances. He is still skating on the third line at even-strength but manning the point on the first power play unit, where he has posted five of his 18 points. The future is very bright.
