On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy hockey managers to stream, roster or utilize in standard leagues and/or DFS games. Players and goalies highlighted for streaming in standard leagues are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Alexis Lafreniere, LW/RW, NYR vs. UTAH (18% rostered) - FanDuel $4,800
Lafreniere has yet to show that he deserved to be the first overall pick in the 2020 draft. He has had pockets of production, including the 2023 playoffs and start of the 2024-25 season. Since then, Laf has drawn the ire of the Blueshirts' fanbase for his failure to fully develop. He notched three assists in the Winter Classic while skating on a line with Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad. The hope is that Lafreniere can build off the success he had Friday.
Beckett Sennecke, RW, ANA vs. WSH (32% rostered) - FanDuel $5,700
Sennecke lit the lamp for the second straight contest Friday, giving the rookie winger 13 goals to lead all first year players. He is also up to 31 points, which is second in that category behind Ivan Demidov. Sennecke has shown no signs of hitting a wall or slippage and will be counted to help Anaheim earn a playoff berth. He is living up to his selection third overall in the 2024 draft.
Claude Giroux, LW/RW, OTT vs. DET (19% rostered) - FanDuel $4,900
Giroux is no longer an elite scorer, but he remains a solid secondary option for the Senators. He has three goals and six assists over his last eight games, giving Giroux - who recently played his 1,300th career contest - eight tallies and 20 helpers in 40 contests. Giroux currently is skating on Ottawa's third line, but can move up into the top-six if needed.
