Andrei Svechnikov Doing His Best to Reverse His Negative Trend from the Past Several easons

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues and/or for daily fantasy games.

    Andrei Svechnikov, LW/RW, CAR @ BUF (67% rostered) - FanDuel $5,200
Svechnkov is doing his best to put his slow start well in the past. He has scored five goals and added four assists over his last nine contests, upping his season marks to seven and five, respectively, further evidencing his rough beginning to the season. Svechnikov's production has dropped off dramatically since his career season in 2021-22, making his recent rebound even more important.

Mats Zuccarello, RW, MIN @ WPG (29% rostered) - FanDuel $5,500
Zuccarello's return earlier this month has lengthened the Wild lineup, as he slotted back into to his first line right wing spot. The Norwegian Hobbit, which was his nickname during his Rangers' days, has a goal and six helpers in seven contests since he rejoined Minnesota. In the final season of the two-year, $8.25 million contract extension he signed with the Wild in September of 2023, Zuccarello is a good bet to ink another deal with the team.

Emil Heineman, LW/RW, NYI vs. SEA (43% rostered) - FanDuel $5,400
Heineman, part of the Islanders' return for Noah Dobson, is skating on the team's second line. He is off to a strong start with nine goals and six assists in 22 contests, nearly matching his production from last season in 63 games for the Canadiens. Heineman brings a physical presence to that trio, as he has already dished out 73 hits after posting 173 last season for the Habs.

Teuvo Teravainen, LW/RW, CHI vs. COL (26% rostered) - FanDuel $4,900
Turbo has been revving hot for the Blackhawks, notching three goals and as many helpers in his last six games. He is up to five markers and 10 helpers in 20 contests, putting him on early pace to match or slightly exceed his production his last two seasons. Teravainen is a streaky, complimentary winger, who fits nicely in the Chicago lineup, skating on the first power play unit.

Elias Pettersson, C/LW, VAN vs, CGY (92% rostered) - FanDuel $6,800
Sticking with the point streak theme, EP40 entered Saturday's docket on a five-game streak during which he posted four goals and five assists. Like Svechnikov, Pettersson got iff to a slow start, and like Andrei, Elias is on a heater. Pettersson output fell off a cliff in 2024-25, as he dropped from 89 points the prior season to just 45 last season, drawing board-based criticism. He is doing his best to flip that narrative as Pettersson has seven goals, 20 points (eight on the power play), 39 shots on net, 45 blocked shots, 24 hits and a minus-5 rating through 22 appearances this season.
