Brad Marchand has been everything that the Florida Panthers had hoped for since they acquired him from the Boston Bruins at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. The star forward has been incredible for the Panthers this post-season, as he has recorded seven goals, 17 points, and a plus-14 rating in 19 games. This includes scoring two goals, including the double overtime winner, in the Panthers' Game 2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Naturally, with how wonderful Marchand has been for the Panthers, many have wondered if Florida will try to re-sign the pending unrestricted free agent this summer. While speaking to ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, Marchand made it clear that he has thought about re-signing with the Panthers but is also, understandably, more focused on the Stanley Cup Final right now.

"Yeah, I've thought about that, but we'll deal with that in the future," Marchand said."

Given how things have gone for Marchand since being traded to the Panthers, it is understandable that he is open the staying around. He has been a perfect fit for them, as he is not only a skilled offensive player but also provides plenty of bite and leadership in the process. Thus, it would be huge if the Panthers re-signed him.

However, fellow Panthers stars Sam Bennett and Aaron Ekblad are also pending UFAs, so Florida has some big decisions to make this summer. It will be fascinating to see if the Panthers and Marchand can come to terms on a new contract after the playoffs from here.
