Florida Panthers Assign Sam Lafferty To The AHL; Recall Cole Reinhardt And Cole Schwindt

As the Florida Panthers continue to navigate injuries up front to Aleksander Barkov and Brad Marchand, they have made a pair of call-ups from the AHL.

On Saturday, ahead of the Panthers' 3-2 comeback victory over the Vancouver Canucks, the Panthers recalled forward Cole Reinhardt from the AHL to be an extra forward. Reinhardt had recorded two assists in five games before the call-up.

Last season, after being claimed off waivers, Reinhardt posted an impressive six goals and eight points in 15 games.

The Panthers made another roster move this morning, assigning Sam Lafferty to the AHL and recalling Cole Schwindt.

Lafferty appeared in five games during his call-up but did not record any points. Lafferty served as the fourth-line center, recording a minus-4 rating and four penalty minutes.

As for Schwindt, he's notched one goal and three points in five games. Last year in the NHL, he scored five goals and seven points in 29 games, missing a large chunk of the season with an injury.

At today's practice, Schwindt slotted into the fourth-line center role, while Reinhardt rotated a bit with Bokondji Imama. For now, it looks like Reinhardt will be the 13th forward again.

Today's practice lines:

B. Tkachuk - Bennett - M. Tkachuk
Verhaeghe - Reinhart - Eller
Luostarinen - Lundell - Vilmanis
Imama/Reinhardt - Schwindt - Hathaway

Forsling - Ekblad
Mikkola - Jones
Kulikov - Gudas
Balinskis

Markstrom
Schmid

The Panthers are off until Wednesday, when they head back onto the road for four games, starting in Ottawa.
