Panthers and Rangers battle in a big game in the race for number 1 seed in the East and get the prime ABC national game of the week time slot on Saturday night at 8pm
The Florida Panthers will take on the New York Rangers at the famed Madison Square Garden on Saturday in a game that will have big implications in the race for the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Rangers currently sit in second place in the East with 96 points after beating the first place Boston Bruins on Thursday night and a win here could elevate them to the coveted number one seed.
The Panthers on the other hand are on a three-game losing streak and all three losses have been in regulation with just 3 total goals scored in this skid. The Panthers have not lost three straight regulation games all season and it’s likely Captain Sasha Barkov will miss his second straight game with an injury.
The Panthers are looking to end this losing streak and will be doing so in front of a big audience with the ABC tv treatment. This game should have a playoff feel to it as the audience will be expanded on national television and with both teams competing for that number one spot.
Plus, if you want a sports watching appetizer, you can tune into ABC just a bit earlier at 3:30 pm as Iowa sensation Caitlin Clark will compete in her final NCAA tournament. Great day of sports ahead on ABC Saturday and let’s see if the Panthers can get back to their winning ways.
