The Panthers Floorball Program has stretched into hundreds of schools across the tri-county area

Bringing hockey to South Florida’s youth is something the Florida Panthers have prioritized in recent years.
A big part of those efforts is the team’s floorball program, which is in hundreds of schools across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
According to the team, the Panthers Floorball Program is in over 500 schools in the state.
Physical education teachers were invited to FLA Live Arena on Wednesday to participate in floorball training before heading back to their respective schools with the new curriculum.
"This is an event for all our physical education teachers," said Broward County Public Schools Curriculum Supervisor Dillion Giorgis. "It's one of the few opportunities where we can all get together and collaborate. We give them some training and really just communicate our initiative we want to go for this year."
Additionally, the Panthers also invited STEM educators to the arena for training on the team’s EVERFI Future Goals Program.
The STEM program is also in hundreds of schools in South Florida’s tri-county area and, according to the team, brings “cutting-edge, digital STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning opportunities into classrooms at no cost.”
"They're learning about field trips they can take and curriculum they can bring into the classroom, and experts they can bring into the classroom as well as some programs we have going on," said Broward County Public Schools STEM Supervisor Lisa Milenkovic. "It's energizing all the teachers, and us, for the start of the school year."
