The Panthers initial roster consists of 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies
After starting training camp with 59 players at the Coral Springs Ice Den, Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito, Head Coach Paul Maurice and the rest of Florida's decision makers have come to a consensus on the team's initial 22-man group.
On Monday at 5 p.m. ET, the Panthers submitted the team's official Opening Night roster to the NHL.
They didn't release it to the public, however, until the following morning.
The 13 forwards are Sasha Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Carter Verhaeghe, Evan Rodrigues, Sam Bennett, Nick Cousins, Eetu Luostarinen, Anton Lundell, Sam Reinhart, Mackie Samoskevich, Ryan Lomberg, Steven Lorentz and Kevin Stenlund.
Florida will open the season carrying seven defenseman on its roster. The men who made the cut are Gus Forsling, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Dmitry Kulikov, Mike Reilly, Josh Mahura, Niko Mikkola and Uvis Balinskis.
Starting the season listed as injured, non-roster are Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour.
The Panthers first post-training camp practice took place on Monday and it provided a glimpse into what the forward lines and defensive pairings could look like when opening night arrives.
