Both Matthew Tkachuk and Brandon Montour gave updates on their respective injuries during interviews last week

As July comes to a close, we can take comfort in that there has been a decent amount of Florida Panthers news to talk about.

Keeping things interesting makes time to by faster, and the quicker time goes by, the sooner we’ll get to rookie camp.

One milestone we reached was the one-year anniversary of the blockbuster trade that brought Matthew Tkachuk to South Florida.

We took a look at five free agents for Florida to target among next summer’s massive pool of talent that will be hitting the open market.

Panthers prospect and former 40th overall pick Aleksi Heopniemi signed a contract with EHC Biel in Switzerland, raising questions about the 24-year-old’s future with Florida.

Development camp was a great experience for all involved, but particularly the goalies, who had the entire goaltending excellence department under one roof.

Getting back to Tkachuk, we examined his 8-year, $76 million deal that’s viewed by many as one of the biggest bargains in the NHL.

Panthers legend and Hall of Famer Roberto Luongo gave us something to smile about while taking his family to see the new Barbie movie.

Up and coming forward Eetu Luostarinen inked a 3-year extension with the Cats, keeping him with the team through 2027 at a very reasonable AAV.

Brandon Montour gave a great interview on the Cam and Strick Podcast in which he discussed his offseason shoulder surgery and gave an update on his recovery timetable.

Montour also gave some insight from the locker room into how the team reacted to the whole Brooks Koepka – Aaron Ekblad – parking cone saga.

The Panthers released their 30th anniversary logo and gave some info on a few decade-themed nights that will celebrate the team’s history next season.

We took a look at Tkachuk’s new contract with the Panthers and how its being viewed from the outside, and the flip side of that has been the deal Jonathan Huberdeau signed with the Calgary Flames.

Speaking of Tkachuk, he spoke to Sportsnet’s The Fan Morning Show and among other things, discussed just how much he loves playing for the Panthers and living in South Florida
