Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice has announced that forward A.J. Greer will not be in the lineup for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers.
While Maurice confirmed that Greer won't play in Game 2, the Panthers' bench boss also shared that the gritty winger could return for Game 3.
Greer, 28, missed Game 1 against the Oilers due to a lower-body injury. This was after he was limited to only 4:16 of ice time in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Greer has two goals and one assist in 13 playoff games this spring with the Panthers. This is after he scored six goals and recorded new career highs with 11 assists, 17 points, 130 penalty minutes, and 222 hits in 81 regular-season games this season..
