Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk is known for stepping up in big moments, and that has once again been the case this post-season. Before Game 4's matchup against the Edmonton Oilers, Tkachuk had five goals, 18 points, and a plus-5 rating in 20 playoff contests this spring.
Tkachuk stayed hot in Game 4 against the Oilers, as he scored two power-play goals during the first period. With this, he has accomplished a rare stat.
According to Sportsnet Stats, Tkachuk is the first player to score two power-play goals in the same period during a Stanley Cup Final game since Brad Richards did during Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final all the way back in 2004.
This is undoubtedly an impressive stat from Tkachuk, and it shows just how clutch he is capable of being. The star forward is continuing to thrive and is showing zero signs of slowing down for the Panthers.
This was not the only notable stat Tkachuk hit in this contest, either. Tkachuk also recorded his 80th career NHL playoff point in the contest and became the 8th fastest U.S.-born player to do so in the history of the league.
