
Less than two after the Florida Panthers made the first round of cuts from the team’s training camp roster, another large group of players are heading out of town.
Monday morning, the Panthers announced that 13 players had been taken off the team’s camp roster.
Forwards Riley Bezeau, Ryan McAllister and Jake Wise, defensemen Mike Benning, Santtu Kinnunen, Evan Nause, Calle Sjalin and Zachary Uens, and goaltender Ludovic Waeber have been sent to AHL Charlotte are expected to report to Checkers training camp.
Additionally, players who are under contract, forwards Rasmus Asplund and Gerry Mayhew and defenseman Lucas Carlsson have been placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Charlotte.
Each of those three players must pass through waivers before they can report to the Checkers. NHL teams will have 24 hours to submit a claim.
Carlsson will be one to keep an eye on after his standout AHL season a year ago in which he logged a career-high 20 goals and 54 points in 61 games.
Forward Liam Arnsby has been returned to the Ontario Hockey League’s North Bay Battalion.

Florida’s final three preseason games are coming up this week, all against Tampa Bay.
Tuesday the rivals will face-off in Orlando at Amway Center, Thursday the scene shifts to Amalie Arena in Tampa and then they’ll close out the preseason on Saturday in Sunrise.
