The Florida Panthers will be back on the ice for Game 2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs on May 7. After a 5-4 loss to the Maple Leafs to kick off the series, the Panthers will look to pick up a victory in Game 2 to avoid going down 2-0.
The Panthers will be hoping that star goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has a strong bounce-back performance for them in Game 2. The 36-year-old goaltender had a rough night in Game 1, allowing five goals on 30 Maple Leafs shots. This included giving up three goals on Toronto's first eight shots of the game.
While Bobrovsky struggled in Game 1 against the Maple Leafs, there is no question that the two-time Vezina Trophy winner has the potential to get things back on track in Game 2. He has shown in his career that he can step up during the post-season, and this was especially the case just this past spring during the Panthers' Stanley Cup championship run. Now, the Panthers will be looking for the veteran netminder to get back on his A-game and steal them a much-needed victory against the Leafs in Game 2 from here. Going down 2-0 in the series would be quite troubling for the Cats.
It will be intriguing to see what kind of performance Bobrovsky puts together. There is no question that he has a tough challenge ahead of him with the Maple Leafs possessing plenty of stars, but the No. 72 has the ability to shut them down. Let's see if he can do just that with a big bounce-back game from here.
