Florida has played in one Kraft Hockeyville game while the Senators will be playing in their eighth

The Florida Panthers don’t usually travel very far from home during the preseason, but this year they’re making a special trip.

On Sunday the Panthers will meet the Ottawa Senators in Sydney, Nova Scotia in a special Kraft Hockeyville preseason matchup.

The puck will drop at Centre 200 at 4 p.m.

This will be the second time that the Panthers have been selected to play in a Kraft Hockeyville game.

Back in 2019 Florida traveled to Bathurst, New Brunswick to face the Montreal Canadiens, who beat the Cats 4-3.

Ottawa, meanwhile, will be playing in the team’s eighth Kraft Hockeyville games. They hold a 3-4-0 record, capped off by a pair of wins over Montreal in two Hockeyville games last preseason.

Both the Panthers and Senators will hold a morning skate in Sydney, with each being preceded by a special red carpet arrival to the rink that will be open to the public.

The Panthers are expected to dress a similar lineup to what they’ve utilized during their previous two preseason games.

Florida Head Coach Paul Maurice already said that he’s leaving almost all of his NHL regulars back in South Florida. The veteran players, Maurice said, will get into the Cars final three preseason games next week.

Fans hoping to watch the Panthers face off against Ottawa are in luck, as there will be multiple options.

Sunday’s game will not only air nationally on NHL Network, but it will also be streaming live on YouTube
