Florida went 2-1-0 against the Devils last season, winning the only game played in New Jersey

The Florida Panthers will try to salvage two points out of their season-opening road trip when they visit the New Jersey Devils on Monday.
Florida played about as solid as you could in a 2-0 shutout loss on Opening Night in Minnesota, but the discipline went out the window in a frustrating 6-4 loss to the Winnipeg jets Saturday afternoon.
Now the Panthers will face a Devils team looking to end a three-game homestand on a positive note.
While Florida has opened its schedule with three straight on the road, New Jersey was blessed with home games against Detroit, Arizona and Florida to start the year.
The Devils haven’t had any trouble finding the back of the net so far, scoring seven goals in their two games.
Star center Jack Hughes has done must of the early damage for New Jersey with two goals and five points, but he’s tied with three other players for the team lead in goals.
Not bad for having only played twice.
Last season, Florida and the Devils faced each other three times. The Panthers went 2-1-0, winning the only game played in New Jersey, and interestingly, the final score of all three games was 4-2.
Here are the Panthers projected lines and pairings for Monday night, though don’t be surprised to see things look a little different during Florida’s morning skate. If anything changes, we’ll make the updates here.
