Florida Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen exited Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Carolina Hurricanes with an injury. The Panthers forward was injured during the first period of the contest after missing a hit on Hurricanes winger Taylor Hall and colliding into the boards.
Naturally, there was plenty of concern following Luostarinen's exit, but Panthers head coach Paul Maurice has provided a positive injury update on the 26-year-old.
"He should be fine," Maurice told reporters, including The Hockey News' David Dwork. "We don't think it's too serious. We think he'll be right and ready."
Hearing that Luostarinen's injury is not expected to be serious is certainly encouraging news for the Panthers. He has been excellent for the Panthers this post-season, recording four goals, 13 points, and a plus-11 rating. With numbers like these, he has been giving the Panthers fantastic secondary offensive production, so they will be hoping he does not need to miss time during the Stanley Cup Final.
Luostarinen appeared in 80 regular-season games this season with the Panthers, where he had nine goals, 24 points, 183 hits, and a plus-12 rating.
