The Florida Panthers picked up a massive 6-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3. It was simply a dominant performance by the Panthers, and they now have the chance to extend their lead to 3-1 with another victory at home in Game 4.
With Game 3 being so lopsided, there was naturally plenty of feistiness during it. Due to this, it would not be surprising to many if more bad blood carried over to Game 4.
However, Panthers head coach Paul Maurice predicted this for Game 4 when speaking to reporters, including NHL.com's Jameson Olive: "I think this will be the fastest, most-disciplined game by both teams."
A disciplined game from both sides would certainly be far different than what we saw in Game 3. The Panthers ended that matchup with 55 penalty minutes, while the Oilers had a whopping 85 penalty minutes. Thus, it was undoubtedly a scrappy contest between the two clubs.
It will now be fascinating to see if Maurice's prediction about Game 4 comes true and both sides settle down a bit from here.
