Samantha Rivera from WFOR-CBS in Miami stiff-armed a Vegas fan who tried invading her space, and her live shot, after Game 2

It’s understandable that fans of the Vegas Golden Knights are feeling pretty good right about now.

Their hockey team just steamrolled the Florida Panthers in two straight games to open the Stanley Cup Final.

T-Mobile Arena was rocking as the home team took a 2-0 series lead on Monday night.

But that doesn’t give fans the right to do whatever they want.

Case in point, South Florida television reporter Samantha Rivera, who works for the local CBS affiliate WFOR in Miami, was doing a live hit for the 11 p.m. ET news from inside the arena on Monday just after the game ended.

As she began her report and was preparing to toss to the Game 1 highlights, an, er, rowdy Golden Knights fan decided he wanted to invade her space and try to get on TV.

Rivera, proving to be a true professional, never took her eyes off the camera but somehow spotted this tool and could see what he was about to do. She extended her right arm like a running back charging into the secondary, and while still holding her phone (which reporters will use to both keep notes on their story and connect back via audio to the station's control room), not only did kept the fan from getting in front of the camera, she didn’t skip a beat in delivering her story with a smile on her face.

“That’s the kind of fan you don’t want to be,” Rivera said into the camera before throwing it the highlights.

After the incident, she took to Twitter and expressed her thoughts on what happened.

“Listen, I don’t give a damn what team you’re rooting for - get the hell out of my face when I’m working and respect that I’m here to do my job,” Rivera tweeted.

Overall it was an amazing act of professionalism in a situation that no person, particularly one trying to do their job, should have to endure.

Rivera added that she’s “excited to get back home to some classy Panthers fans.”

Game 3 between Florida and Vegas takes place Thursday night from FLA Live Arena in Sunrise.
