The Florida Panthers [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/florida-panthers]have been making plenty of moves over the last several days, and they have now made another one. According to PuckPedia, the Panthers have signed goaltender Daniil Tarasov to a one-year, $1.05 million contract for the 2025-26 season. The Panthers acquired Tarasov from the Columbus Blue Jackets last week in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick. Now, the Panthers have signed him instead of letting him become a restricted free agent (RFA). Tarasov, 26, had a 7-10-2 record, a 3.54 goals-against average, and a .881 save percentage in 20 games this past season with the Blue Jackets. While it was a bit of a tough campaign for him, there is reason to believe that he can bounce back in Florda. Just back in 2023-24, he had a .908 save percentage in 24 games. It will be interesting to see what kind of season Tarasov puts together after landing this one-year deal with the Panthers from here.
