Los Angeles Kings aim for Pacific Division success despite Doughty's injury.

As the 2024-25 NHL season unfolds, the Los Angeles Kings are poised to make a strong push in the Pacific Division, despite facing some challenges.

Quinton Byfield, now fully developed and ready to take the next step in his career, is set to play a pivotal role in the Kings’ offensive strategy. His growth could be a game-changer for the team, providing the primary scoring needed to compete with the top clubs in the division.

As Byfield steps into a bigger role, key teammates like Kevin Fiala, Adrian Kempe, and Anze Kopitar will be crucial in supporting his development.

Especially Kopitar, who provides leadership and will be tasked with keeping the team focused through the adversity.

However, the Kings will be navigating the season without their star defenseman, Drew Doughty, who is expected to be sidelined for an extended period due to an ankle injury.

Doughty's absence will undoubtedly be felt, as he brings both leadership and elite play on the ice. The team will need to rally and adapt quickly in his absence, relying on their defensive depth to step up.

With a balanced mix of young talent and veteran experience, the Kings have the potential to secure a playoff spot in the Pacific Division.

If they can maintain consistency and get contributions from their stars, they could very well finish among the top teams in the division, hopefully avoiding the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the playoffs again.
