Kings re-sign depth pieces in Lewis & Copley

The Los Angeles Kings have re-signed forward Trevor Lewis and goalie Phoenix Copley.

Unfortunately, there wasn't a media release from the team yesterday, and no NHL insider would confirm the insight. However, it has now been made public that the Kings have signed both players as depth options.

Lewis, 37, signed a one-year deal with an AAV of $800,000. He has been a member of the Kings organization for 13 seasons, and this one will likely be his last back where it all began.

Lewis will be a depth forward option that will likely center the last line for the Kings, similar to what he did last season. Last season, he had 16 points in 82 games; he should be around that number in terms of point production again this season.

Copley, 32, also signed a one-year deal with an AAV of $825,000. He is looking like he will be taking on the third goalie role after the Kings signed David Rittich and acquired Darcy Kuemper from the Washington Capitals for Pierre-Luc Dubois.

Copley suffered an injury last season after only appearing in eight games with the Kings. He had a record of 4-1-2 with a .870 SV% and a 3.16 GAA. Copley could even start this season in the AHL with the Ontario Reign to ensure he is back to 100%.
