The Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers had a very spirited Game 2 of their first-round series.
Last night, the Kings' captain, Anze Kopitar, sealed the game for his team in overtime when he broke in on a particular breakaway and beat Stuart Skinner.
There was also a huge hit from Quinton Byfield on Connor McDavid that sparked debate on how the hit was allowed. The Oilers' fans were mad about the timing of the hit. However, that wasn't the only hit that caught the attention of social media last night.
Oilers' forward Zach Hyman rocked Phillip Danault, leaving him hurt on the ice.
Danault went right to the tunnel and appeared to be hurt badly. This is the type of hit that could end a player's playoff due to an injury. Thankfully, he returned to the game a few minutes after going down the tunnel.
There have been no new reports from the team regarding any type of injury to Danault, which is the best-case scenario for the Kings, who need him to be in the lineup to be as successful as possible.
The series now shifts back to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4. Game 3 will be a huge game for the Kings. If they can neutralize the Oilers' top stars and win the next game, they set themselves up to potentially win the series.
